Ming Xi родилась в 1989 году в Шанхае. Первым шагом на пути к славе было участие в конкурсе "Go! Oriental Angels" транслируемое на канале Dragon TV.
Затем в 2009 Ming участвовала в элитном конкурсе красоты Elite Model Look и вошла в 15 лучших моделей. Вскоре после конкурса она подписала контракт с Givenchy и уже в январе 2010 участвовала в рекламной кампании.
